Cross-Border Collaborations

North Sweden Cleantech has strong cross-border collaborations. The project Future Cleantech Solutions enables collaborations between Finland and Sweden, a region which includes Västerbotten County, Vaasa Region, Kokkola Region and the municipality of Örnsköldsvik. The goal is cross-border business cooperation.

The project will strengthen the development of the Västerbotten County, the Vaasa Region, the Kokkola Region and the municipality of Örnsköldsvik as leaders in energy and environmental technology by gathering forces on both sides of the gulf of Bothnia. For Västerbotten and Örnsköldsvik, it involves, among other things, advanced research, demonstrations and pilot facilities, as well as full-scae technology solutions. In Österbotten there are 11,000 employees in the energy sector and a science park with a focus on energy and environmental technology. The Finnish Government has designated Vaasa as the Centre of Excellence in the area, and global leaders in Vaasa are selling energy and competence, among other places, in Africa.

Extended business collaboration enables business

International collaboration is something that North Sweden Cleantech welcome as we have much to learn from each other in terms of business, export, commercialization, business network and competence within energy and environmental technology. North Sweden Cleantech can clearly see the great benefit of a strong partnership cross our borders in favor to increased growth and better business within Cleantech.

We strive to strengthen the cross-border collaborations with other parts of the world, e.g. Norway, China, India and United Kingdom.
