Call for Proposals: Kraftlyftet – Production and Storage
The Swedish Energy Agency is now opening applications for investment support within Kraftlyftet. The initiative covers electricity production and storage and is aimed at projects that strengthen the reliability of the electricity system where the needs are greatest.
The purpose of the call is to maintain momentum in electrification by supporting projects that can, in the near term, enhance the electricity system’s ability to meet growing demand before the grid has been sufficiently expanded.
What Funding Can You Apply For?
You may apply for funding for projects in the following areas:
- Conversion of a heating plant into a bio-based combined heat and power (CHP) plant
- Investment in a new bio-based CHP plant or upgraded production capacity in an existing facility
- Investment in a new gas turbine powered by renewable fuels or upgraded production capacity in an existing facility
- Investment in electricity or heat storage, provided the storage facility is directly connected to a renewable electricity generation facility
- Upgraded production capacity in a small-scale hydropower plant
Support is granted only to projects located in areas where the connection of electricity production, or electricity or heat storage, either enables the grid connection of new electricity consumption or helps maintain security of supply.
