Increased Visibility and Stronger Networks – Social Selling in Bothnia Green Energy

How do you build relationships and strengthen your brand in a digital world? Through its Social Selling initiative, the Bothnia Green Energy project has equipped small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as energy-related startups, with new tools to expand their reach on LinkedIn.

Over the course of two program rounds, participating companies have taken part in a development initiative focused on Social Selling, using LinkedIn as a strategic tool for sales and relationship-building. The aim has been to establish long-term connections, enhance online presence, and support the growth of sustainable and competitive businesses in the Kvarken region.

“It’s been exciting to see how small tweaks in how I communicate on LinkedIn can make a big impact,” says Ebba Nabb, Business Manager and Sales at upKeeper Solutions and continues,

“By actively growing my network and sharing content related to my work, I’ve increased my visibility and built more valuable connections.”

Now concluded, the program provided concrete methods for identifying and engaging with relevant target audiences. Participants worked actively on refining their profiles, sharing meaningful content, and growing their networks.

“We’ve connected with potential partners and received valuable insights through those contacts,” says Jorma Koivuniemi, Head of Procurement and Sales at ClimaPro.

Peter Hedman, Project Manager for Bothnia Green Energy, has seen clear outcomes from the initiative:

“Social Selling is a powerful way to reach new customers and partners via LinkedIn, but it takes time and commitment. That’s why it’s especially rewarding to hear from so many participants who are already seeing increased engagement and stronger business connections thanks to their LinkedIn activity. This is exactly what we aimed for when developing this initiative – to help companies increase their visibility and build relationships across borders that drive sustainable growth.”

This initiative is part of Bothnia Green Energy’s broader mission to highlight innovative energy solutions and strengthen the business community in the Kvarken region. Through the Social Selling program, participants have gained new perspectives, practical tools, and a better understanding of how to approach sales strategically through digital channels – knowledge that will continue to generate value well beyond the project’s end.
