Crystalline nanocellulose has many interesting material characteristics and could be used as e.g. building materials, biocomposites, printed electronics and colour additives.
The CNC pilot is based on technology developed by the Israeli company Melodea. The pilot is the first of its kind in Europe and is an important step for those companies interested in further application development based on crystalline nanocellulose on a large scale. The capacity is 100 kg/day. Apart from pure research and upscaling, the pilot can be used to produce enough amounts of crystalline nanocellulose for application trials.
